About Maitake
Maitake (Grifola Frondosa) is also known as Hen of the Woods. The fungus mainly grows at the foot of deciduous trees such as the Oak. Maitake, which in Japanese means dancing mushroom, occurs in parts of Asia, America and Europe, including the Netherlands. They can be found in many colors and sizes: from white to brown to almost black. In Japan, specimens of up to 45 kg have even been found. This was the inspiration for it’s nickname “King of Mushrooms”, an absolute king!
Mushrooms have been used for millennia in Asian traditional medicine. As for Maitake, evidence has been found that indicates its first use dates back more than 3000 years. As we learn more about nature it gets clear that these ancient cultures were right all these years. The Maitake is indispensable as a supplement because of the nutrients, beta-glucans and fine properties it contains.
For extra effectiveness, we have enriched our Maitake Resistance capsules with Vitamin C and Zinc. Both Vitamin C and Zinc contribute to a good resistance and help the immune system.
